Wofford Pays Visit to KSU

Sept. 16, 2008

KENNESAW, Ga.--After a three-match road trip to start Atlantic Sun Conference play, the Kennesaw State volleyball team is back home to take on the Wofford Terriers in a non-conference match tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the KSU Convocation Center. The Owls sit at 1-8 overall entering tonight's match, while Wofford is 7-2.

HELLO OUT THERE, WE'RE ON THE AIR: Tonight's match will be available via the newly-relaunched ASun.TV service. Registration information can be found by clicking here.

DIG IT: Junior libero Selina O'Leary is on a record-setting pace for Kennesaw State early in the young season. The Plainfield, Ill., native has 112 digs in 16 sets, giving her a digs per set average of 3.73. O'Leary holds the Kennesaw State record for highest average digs per set in a season at 2.62, set during the 2007 season. She needs just an additional 129 digs to match her single-season record of 241 digs in a year, set last season.

DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE: Freshman setter Rachael Albright has already recorded two double-doubles through just nine matches. Albright had 18 assists and 12 digs in KSU's win over Loyola on September 5. The Palm City, Fla., native also had 17 assists and 12 digs against North Florida last Friday.

LAST TIME OUT: Kennesaw State battled, but dropped a 3-0 decision at Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon. The Owls led 23-20 in the second set when a botched call at the net robbed KSU of a chance at set point. The set continued into extra points, with JU taking the set 26-24 en route to the 3-0 win.

ABOUT WOFFORD: The Terriers enter tonight's match at 7-2 on the season after sweeping four matches at the USC Upstate Volleyball Classic. Wofford is a tested team, as each of its first three matches went the full five sets (Wofford went 1-2). Junior Shanna Hughes was named MVP of the USC Upstate Volleyball Classic, recording a hitting percentage of .370 over the four matches.

UP NEXT: The Owls begin a five-match homestand with tonight's contest. KSU will face Stetson this Friday at 7:00 p.m.
