KENNESAW, Ga.--Head coach Valerie Jones and the Kennesaw State volleyball team have gotten back on the court, practicing for the start of the 2008 season.

"It's always exciting to get back out on the court," said Coach Jones. "We've got a great group this year and I expect this year to be the best season we've had as a program."

Setter Tara Dillon will be the only senior on this year's team. Dillon is one of seven returning players off of last season's squad which had many historic achievements, including the first Atlantic Sun Conference wins in team history.

A young team, 10 of the members on this year's roster are either a sophomore or a freshman. Eight of those players are newcomers; those newcomers are Rachael Albright, Chanel Davis, Callie Churchwell, Bianca Rucker, Maja Kostic, Shanice Smith, Heather Quinn and Paris Leonce.

Among the players returning from last season's team are Sabrita Gulley, who is the leading offensive returner from last year's team with an average of 2.48 kills per game, and Asjia Stokes, who ranks third all-time in career kills in KSU history.

The Owls will open the season at Air Force on August 31 in USAF Academy, Colo.
