Women's Track Adds a Sprinter

June 24, 2008

KENNESAW, Ga.--Kennesaw State's women's track program added some depth to the corps of sprinters with the addition of Shelby Hines of Marietta, Ga. Hines has signed a National Letter of Intent to run for the Owls in the 2009 track season, according to assistant coach Devin West.

"Shelby will be a great addition to the women's sprint group," said Coach West. "She brings a level of determination and skill that will compliment our current group of runners. This year's recruiting class has the opportunity to make the same impact that our men's class had last year."

Hines ran for Wheeler High School, specializing in the 200m and the 400m races. In the 200m, Hines has posted a personal-best time of 25.66 seconds. In the 400m, Hines came in third place at the Girls High School State Meet. Her best time in the event is 56.42 seconds, the eighth-best time in the state of Georgia last season.

Hines joins an incoming class that includes Victoria Jackson, Naomi Mack, Brittany Robinson and Jenae Todd.
