After sitting out last season, Hakansson got her Kennesaw State career off on the right foot, winning her first three collegiate singles matches in straight sets to make it to the semifinals of the "A" flight at the season-opening UTC/Steve Baras Championship...Partnered with Lindsey Whalen to win her first two doubles matches as a member of the Black and Gold in Chattanooga...Won her first two matches in the "A" flight at the Queen City Invitational, including a 6-1, 6-2 win over Ball State's Sophie Quest in the second round...Paired with Ayano Tanaka to defeat Jacksonville's duo of Willi and Carrero 8-4 in the first round of the prestigious ITA Regional in Athens...Was sidelined for the entire spring season after injuring her knee.

Madeleine came to Kennesaw State after transfering from McNeese State...Posted an overall singles record of 50-8 in her three years with the Cowboys...Was selected to the All-Southland Conference Second Team as a junior in both singles and doubles...Recorded an overall singles record of 14-3 last season, while going 10-6 on the year in doubles...Her 14 wins stands as the sixth-best in the all-time McNeese State women's tennis records for a single season...Was a three-time Dean's List recipient at McNeese.
