KSU Travels to Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Coming off a heartbreaking loss to Stetson on Monday night, the Kennesaw State women's basketball team embarks on a three-game road trip to end the season, beginning with a showdown with the Jacksonville Dolphins on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Veteran's Memorial Arena, with all the action available on A-Sun.tv.

Kennesaw State (14-11, 9-4 Atlantic Sun Conference) enters the stretch run after falling 55-54 to the Hatters five days ago at the KSU Convocation Center. Stetson's Tierra Brown converted a lay-up with three seconds left in the game and a potential game-winning lay-up by Jennifer Baker was blocked as time expired to put a damper on Senior Night and end the Lady Owls' four-game winning streak.

Britteny Henderson and Montinique Nixon led the Black and Gold with 12 points apiece.

Jacksonville (20-5, 10-2) off to its best start in program history and A-Sun play, has had a week to rest after defeating North Florida, 63-50, last Saturday at Swisher Gymnasium. Crystal Grable tallied her first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds as the Dolphins swept UNF for the second straight season.

JU is led offensively by the A-Sun top scorer, Ashley Williams, who is averaging 16.6 points per game. Virginia Gregoire adds 13.3 points and Regna Omoite also scores in double figures with 10.9 points per contest.

JU leads the all-time series against KSU, 4-1, including a 61-53 win on Jan. 14 at the Convocation Center. The Dolphins have won the last four meetings since KSU defeated JU, 66-60, on Jan. 5, 2006 at Swisher Gymnasium.

After Saturday's game, the Lady Owls will travel across town to face long-time rival, North Florida, on Monday night, before ending the season at Mercer on March 1.
