Dr. Don McGarey is back for his eighth season as assistant coach for the men's women's cross country teams.

A former distance runner at Louisiana State University, McGarey has developed demanding training regiments that get the most out of his runners. Under his tutelage, the Owls finished third at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship in just their first year in the league.

In addition to his responsibilities in practicing, McGarey is in charge of recruiting and scheduling. He also is the head coach of the men's and women's track and field programs.

McGarey is an associate professor in the Department of Biological and Physical Sciences at KSU. He and his family make their home in Kennesaw.
