Devin West is in his second season as the Sprints Coach for Kennesaw State. Working with the track team Coach West is determined to make his roster of talented runners into the best squad of sprinters that KSU has ever had. He has dedicated himself to preparing each one of his athletes to perform at their peek whether it is in the 110m hurdles or the 4x400m relay. Coach West strongly believes this year's team of outstanding competitors can win both the A-Sun Indoor and Outdoor Championships.

Coach West has developed a program for his sprinters that focuses on running form, technique and proper sprint mechanics. He also has a program that helps develop the Speed Philosophy for his 100m, 200m and 400m sprinters. The three phase program takes his runners through different stages of training starting with preseason, then moving to competition and concluding with championship season.

Originally from Berkeley, California Coach West played football and ran track in high school. He was a two time All-County and All-Region sprinter competing in the 100m, 200m and 400m events. He was also a three time California State Track & Field Championship participant. He began his collegiate career after receiving a football scholarship to Saint Mary's College of California where he studied Business.

After leaving Saint Mary's West moved to Georgia and pursued a career in coaching. He has worked for Norcross HS where he was an assistant football and track coach. West has worked with many young runners and in 2006 he coached the Region 7-AAAAA Boy's Track and Field Champions. He has personally coached three 100m State Finalists, one 110 Hurdle State Finalist, two 4x100m Relay State Finalists, one 4x400m Relay State Finalist, one Triple Jump State finalist, one Long Jump State Finalist and 13 State Qualifiers.

An USA Track and Field Certified Level One Coach he currently makes his home in Kennesaw, Ga. where he is studying Secondary Education and Sports Management.
