Take Two...KSU to Play Pair on CSS
Sept. 8, 2006 KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State Owls will be featured twice on television this season as part of the 10-game CSS/A-Sun Game of the Week package in an announcement made the by the league on Thursday afternoon. The agreement between the Atlantic Sun Conference and Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast is in its fifth year of featuring men's basketball in primetime on Friday nights. The Owls, in their second season in the A-Sun, will be featured twice in a three-week period from mid-January to early February. Kennesaw State will play blossoming-rival East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tennessee on January 19, before hosting the Camels of Campbell, on February 2. The Owls split four games with ETSU and Campbell last season. KSU downed the Buccaneers at home, 78-72, in overtime before losing on the road to the Bucs. The Owls defeated the Camels by four on the road last year before dropping an eight-point decision last season at the Convocation Center. Last season Kennesaw State won their lone televised game on CSS, defeating Gardner-Webb, 74-68, in North Carolina. The February 2 contest against Campbell will be the first men's basketball game televised from the KSU campus. Last season two women's games were broadcast from the KSU Convocation Center. "CSS is excited to continue our partnership with the Atlantic Sun Conference and its increasingly competitive basketball program," stated Vice President and General Manager of CSS Mark Fuhrman. "The A-Sun Friday night game of the week and the A-Sun basketball tournament continue to offer quality basketball programming to our 5.5 million subscribers throughout the Southeast while being consistent with our focus of providing games that fall within our regional footprint. We look forward to another year of great rivalry match-ups from the A-Sun." The television schedule begins on January 9 and runs through the final weekend of the regular season on February 24. |
