KENNESAW, Ga. - Head Coach Tony Ingle and the Kennesaw State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced that Tanner Jacobs, of Trinity High School in Louisville, Kentucky, will join the Owls basketball program for the upcoming season.

"We are excited to have Tanner in our program," said Ingle. "He comes from a good program in Trinity High School. He brings with him a toughness and a competitive heart. We're going to need him to give us quality minutes. We expect a lot from him. "

The 6-foot-8-inch, 210 pound forward scored 493 points last season, averaging 17.0 points per game and 14.1 rebounds while leading Trinity to a 21-8 record during his senior season. Jacobs was named to the all state second team by the Louisville Courier-Journal and was an honorable mention selection by the Lexington Herald-Ledger.

Last season, Jacobs recorded a double-double in 25 of 29 games and also had Trinity High School's first-ever 30-rebound game in the school's history when he accomplished the feat in a 67-50 win over Christian Academy on Dec. 8, 2006. Jacobs reached the 20-point plateau in 10 games and grabbed 20-or more rebounds in three games last season.

For his career, Jacobs scored 880 points and was an all-region first team selection in 2007. In his junior year he was a second team honoree. In addition, he was also selected to represent Kentucky in the prestigious Anthem Kentucky/Indiana All-Star Boy's Basketball Classic.
