March 3, 2008

MACON, Ga.--A 21 point, 18 rebound effort in his final collegiate game has earned Kennesaw State's Shuan Stegall Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week honors as announced by the A-Sun office on Monday afternoon.

Stegall led KSU to a victory in its season finale, a, 65-61, victory over Mercer last Friday night in Macon. The win gave the Owls a mark of 10-20 for the season overall and 7-9 in the A-Sun.

The Atlanta native finished his three-year playing career at Kennesaw State with 1,012 points. Stegall became the 11th player in Owls history to record 1,000 points for his career. His 18 rebounds tied Tanner Jacobs for the KSU season high in rebounds for a game and also marked the second-most rebounds for a player in the A-Sun this season.

Stegall finished the 2007-08 campaign averaging 14.3 points and 7.6 rebounds. With 220 rebounds for the season, Stegall completed his eligibility with 547 rebounds as an Owl.

The senior joins fellow senior Ronell Wooten as the only Owls to earn the weekly award from the A-Sun this season. It is also the first time in his career that Stegall has been named Player of the Week.

KSU's 7-9 A-Sun mark is good for a seventh-place finish in the regular season. The Owls finished in front of the other three schools in the A-Sun that are transitioning to Division I.
