McConnell joins the Owls after a successful prep career at Whitefield Academy in Mabelton, Ga. under coach Tyrone Johnson...helped lead the Wolfpack to the 2004, 2006, and 2007 1-A State Championship games...was named a second team All-State selection and won the Whitefield Academy "Cornerstone" award after his senior season...was selected as the Cobb County Tip-Off Club's Player of the Month in November and December of both 2005 and 2006...averaged 19.4 points, five assists and 2.7 steals per game his senior season...earned a First Team All-State selection after his junior season, shooting 52.4 percent from behind the three-point arc.
